NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville's new 95th Street Community Plaza will open the weekend of July 4. The plaza features custom-made playground pieces with a storybook theme, a rope climbing course and a splash pad that will open at a later date.

Park District Director of Planning, Eric Shutes told Patch, "The aim of the 95th Street Community Plaza is to provide a beautiful outdoor setting for people of all ages to enjoy in this location which is close to the 95th Street Library, Neuqua Valley High School, Frontier Sports Complex athletic fields and recreation and area businesses along Route 59. The Plaza is a destination for fun, socializing, community events, being physically active and enjoying nature."

The 95th Street Community Plaza also features Wagner Pavilion (made possible by a donation from Pulte Homes in collaboration with the Wagner Family). The pavilion, which overlooks a lawn seating area, will eventually host live musical events and other performances.

The new plaza has seating areas with shaded canopies, along with walking paths that overlook the pond. The pond's shoreline has been revamped with native plants and the park is decorated with perennials and trees that Shutes says "provide a beautiful backdrop for the new plaza."
