Nearly A Dozen Gun Arrests At TopGolf Since September: Report

Gun-related arrests have surged at TopGolf in Naperville since September, with police reporting 11 as of early March, per Chicago Tribune.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville police have made nearly a dozen gun-related arrests at TopGolf since September 2023, according to Chicago Tribune.

In most of the cases, police say they saw a firearm in someone's car before making the arrest.

The most recent arrest took place on March 4, when a Chicago man was taken into custody on gun charges at TopGolf.

In mid-September, a Joliet man was accused of having a loaded gun and narcotics in his car while he was parked at TopGolf. A police officer had reported seeing a gun "protruding from the driver's side door frame" of the car, per a news release.

In February, a sixth person was arrested at TopGolf on gun charges.

On Feb. 27, two people were arrested at TopGolf in Naperville and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Patch contacted Naperville police for more information on that arrest and Commander Ricky Krakow said via email that "[a]n officer of foot observed a firearm in a parked car. The suspect returned to the car and was taken into custody without incident."
