New Coronavirus Cases On Rise Again In Naperville
Since March 2020, the DuPage County portion of Naperville has seen 6,424 coronavirus cases.
NAPERVILLE, IL — The number of coronavirus cases in Naperville has increased by 122 cases in the past week in DuPage County, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD). Those numbers show a rise compared to the previous week, which saw an increase of 92 coronavirus cases.

As of March 2, there had been 6,302 cases reported in the DuPage County portion of Naperville. The total number of cases reported in Naperville as of March 9 was 6,424 per DCHD.

As of March 2, nearby Lisle had reported 1,609 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 1,630 as of March 9.

Lisle saw no additional coronavirus deaths in the past week. To date, there have been a total of 29 coronavirus-related deaths in the village, DCHD reports.
DuPage County recently reported that close to one in seven residents had received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. The county also marked another milestone as its overall coronavirus positivity rate dropped to 3.4 percent, its lowest point since June 2020.
The risk of transmission in DuPage County is currently classified as "substantial."
