New Naperville Salon Caters Exclusively to Men

The business is located in the Freedom Commons and two more locations are planned.

A new Naperville business is hoping to bring a little style to the city.

18|8 is a men’s hair salon owned and operated by Jeff and Kris Forney.

Jeff Forney said they had always been interested in operating their own business and 18|8 allowed them to do so in a unique and exciting way.

The salon is set up to be a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere for men to be in, Forney said.

“All our customers love the attention and care that we give them and there’s really not another place like it,” he said.

Everything from straight shaves to facials and scalp treatments are provided at the salon. Costs range from $32 to $50, but prices may vary.

The business also offers memberships that cover prepaid hair and grooming services at a discounted price.

A grand opening has not yet been scheduled, but the business opened Dec. 5.

So far, business has been going well.

“It’s been a pretty good first month that we had and we’re starting to see some bookings for January and February.” Forney said.

And the reaction from the clients so far has been pretty positive.

“I’ve gotten a lot of five star reviews with Yelp,” Forney said. “Everyone’s really liking it.”

What Forney’s been enjoying the most about the business, though, is his staff.

“They’ve embraced the 18|8 culture and they’re doing a really good job,” he said. “That’s why customers are enjoying their time there.”

The salon is open now at 1763 Freedom Drive in the Freedom Commons, but that won’t be the only one. Two more locations are planned for the future.

“We’re really excited to be in the Naperville area,” Forney said. “The response from everyone has been great so far.”

The salon is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
