New, Revamped Events Planned for Naperville Last Fling
The Naperville Jaycees will be attempting to break the record for the most people doing burpees at one time, among other events.
NAPERVILLE, IL — The Naperville Jaycees’ 2016 Last Fling is debuting a revamped Special Events schedule this year, as well as highlighting some classic favorites, according to a news release.
The Jaycees new partnership with Knockerball Chicago will bring the new sport of bubble soccer to the Last Fling. A separate fee will apply, but options for single games and all day passes are available.
The biggest event on the Labor Day Weekend Special Events schedule is a world-record attempt on Rotary Hill on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016. The Naperville Jaycees will be attempting to break the record for the most people doing burpees at one time. This event will be free and open to the public, so come be a part of a great family fitness event.

Two other new events include a kids Alphabet Photo Contest and an all-ages “Feel The Force” Trivia Contest that will happen in partnership with the meet and greet of your favorite force- themed characters.

The Last Fling Car Show will take place in partnership with Braconi’s Italian Restaurant on Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, in the parking lot of Braconi’s on Royal St George Drive in Naperville.
Awards will be given to the best in show. Pre-registration is required through the Last Fling website.
The Jaycees have updated some classic favorite events, so bring your sweet tooth to the Cupcake Eating Contest, sponsored by Smallcakes. Also, highlight your baking skills in a Dessert Bake Off, sponsored by De’Ettas Bakery.
As always, the Naperville Jaycees has great events for all ages, like the Players Sports Superhero Race, Water Balloon Dodge and a Diaper Derby, sponsored by Primrose Schools at Naperville Crossing.
Those with hearty appetites and appreciative spectators won’t want to miss the Spaghetti Eating Contest, sponsored by Braconi’s. Then, follow that up with an Ice Cream Eating Contest, brought to you by Colonial Café & Ice Cream.
