No Chair for You
Lee's Barber Shop has a Blackhawks chair but you can't sit in it ... for now.

At Lee’s Barber Shop, you can get a haircut in any chair … except one.
Owner Mike Densford designed a chair with the Blackhawks logo in 2013 right before the playoffs started. But you can’t sit in it. At least not right now.
“Everyone wanted to sit in it,” Densford said. “So I thought, you gotta wait until they win a cup, so it kinda just went from there.”

Since then, Densford has had people coming in to see the chair.
“A few a week will come in and stop in for a haircut and say they saw it,” he said. “They wanted to get a haircut and figured they’d come here and check it out while they’re in the area.”

Despite not being allowed to sit in it, most people still want to, which is why Densford blocked the seat off with red tape marked “danger.”
“A lot of guys will tease, but they get the rule,” Densford said. “Last Saturday I had a kid accidentally sit in it so when I came back that Monday, I bought red caution tape and taped it up so no one would sit in it. It works.”
But once the Blackhawks inevitably win the Stanley Cup, customers will be able to sit in the chair for a cut. A week after they either win or get eliminated, those coming in to get a haircut and a beard shave will get the beard done for free.
But in the meantime, no one is sitting there, not even if they offered money. But Densford may have a change of heart for a groom.
“If it’s a wedding party, I’d let the groom sit in it,” Densford said.
While Densford might not be as diehard a fan as others, he said he has been a fan his whole life.
“I follow them as much as I can,” he said. “I’ll catch them on the radio and catch the away games when they’re on television.”
However, this themed chair isn’t the only one Densford plans on having.
“Once I get the money I’m gonna do the Bears,” Densford said.
Densford has owned Lee’s Barber Shop for three-and-a-half years. The business itself has been in Naperville for 50. It’s located at Modern Way Center, 1010 N Washington St. Lee’s is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and is closed on Sunday.
