North Central College Issues Statement Following Verdict In Shaun Wild Slaying
North Central College hopes jury's verdict will bring continued healing to alumnus' family and all affected by February 2012 events.

North Central College issued the following statement after Wednesday evening’s guilty verdict in the slaying of Naperville elementary school teacher Shaun Wild.
“Today a verdict was reached in the case involving the February 4, 2012, death of 2011 North Central College alumnus Shaun Wild and injury of 2012 alumnus William Hayes III.
“The loss in 2012 of such a highly respected former student and gifted
educator brought together members of our College family in a profound
and shared grief. Shaun was devoted to his students and he personified
our mission to prepare informed, involved, principled and productive
citizens and leaders.
“With today’s conclusion it is our sincere desire that the North
Central College community and all who were affected by these events
continue on the path of healing.
“We appreciate the tremendous effort provided by the Naperville Police
Department and the Assistant State’s Attorney’s office throughout
the legal proceedings.
“Our thoughts and prayers remain with Shaun’s family, North Central
College classmates, teammates, faculty, staff and coaches, Indian
Prairie School District 204 coworkers, and all who knew him.”
