Bernadette Liefer
Age 92, of New Lenox and formerly of Oak Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 13, 2025.

Bernie was born on July 19, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of the late Lillian and Bernard Raymond. Bernie worked in the Insurance Industry, retiring after many years of service.
Bernie will be remembered for her love of family, her amazing strength, her fierce independence, and her enduring faith. She was a food connoisseur who loved arts and traveling. Bernie was such an outgoing woman who cherished spending time with family and friends and her feistiness was indisputable until the very end.

Bernie was survived by her sister, Babette (late Richard) Hiller; brother, Ken Raymond; sister-in-law, Joretta Raymond; stepchildren, Molly Liefer-Lenz (late Dave) and Seth (Shelly) Liefer. "Aunt Bernie" will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, James (Dana) Raymond, Nicole (James) Cox, Wendy (Craig) Shonkwiler, Brad (Michelle) Hiller, late Laura (Michael) Olszewski, Gordon (Denise) Hiller, and Regina (Paul) Husemoller. She also leaves behind numerous great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bernie is also preceded in death by her niece, Laura; great-niece, Elyssa, and her husbands, Bill Merle and Howard Liefer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Support PCHS | Providence Catholic High School.
As it was Bernie's request, cremation rites have been accorded and her services will be held privately by her family.
