Dolores Marquez, 96, of late Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 12, 1929 in Joliet the daughter of the late Soledad Perez.

Dolores was a loving wife and a devoted mother who dedicated her life to her children. She never judged unequally, never raised her voice, and always listened with patience and understanding. As a homemaker, she created a home filled with warmth, comfort, and unconditional love. Her children were her world, and she was always there when they needed her.
Dolores is survived by her children, Linda McDade, Rita (Joe) Salazar, Leroy, Kathy (John) Romo; son-in-law, Joe Borth; grandchildren, Lisa, Jenny (Carter), Sylvia, Aurelio, Raquel, Johnny (Janet), Jeremy (Sonia), and Adam; numerous great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Marquez, of 60 years; mother, Soledad Perez; daughter, Christina Borth; brother, Robert Perez; sister, Josephine Rodriguez; granddaughter, Tina Daniels; great granddaughter, Jayden Marquez; and sons-in-law, William Daniels and Raymond McDade.
She was blessed with many loving relatives, and her family wishes to extend a special thank‑you to her devoted nieces, Andrea Campos and Diana Rodriguez, whose care and presence brought her great comfort.
The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Margie and Tammy of LightWays Hospice Care for their exceptional compassion, support, and kindness during Dolores’s final days.
Her gentle spirit, kindness, and constant love will be forever cherished by all who knew her.
Visitation for Dolores C. Marquez will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 205 E. Jackson Street, Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
