Park District Offers Kids’ Activities for School Days Off

Naperville Park District Presents Creepy Critters Day Oct. 8 and Field Trips Oct. 4, 8, Nov. 6 and 21

School days off present special opportunities for children to have fun, meet new friends and learn something new. Naperville Park District offers several activities this fall for elementary school children.

A new program, School’s Out Field Trip & Fun begins October 4 for ages 6-10, with an entire day planned, including activities at a Park District facility and field trips to favorite local destinations. Times for each day are 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Register online at www.napervilleparks.org. Dates and destinations are as follows:

The fourth annual Creepy Critters Day will take place at Knoch Knolls Nature Center on the Columbus Day school holiday, Monday, October 8 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Kids can dig for slimy worms, touch a snake, observe real cockroaches and more. This is a free drop-in program that includes a Creepy Story Time presented by the Naperville Public Library at 10:30 a.m. and a visit by Buffy the Bat at 12:00 noon, courtesy of the event sponsor, Rose Pest Solutions. No registration is required. At least one adult must attend with each group of children.
