Police say Jerry Hill, 39, was on parole for drug charges when he was pulled over and found in possession of cocaine and a loaded gun.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A man who was on parole for drug charges was arrested in Naperville Monday after police say they found a loaded gun, more than 17 grams of cocaine and bags of cannabis on him during a traffic stop.
Jerry Hill, 39, of Chicago, was charged with felony counts of armed habitual criminal, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon — prior conviction, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in connection with the Aug. 1 incident.
Police say they pulled Hill over for driving at 40 mph in a zone with a 25 mph speed limit. Officers told Hill and a juvenile to get out of the car after smelling cannabis, a news release said.

Berlin added, “This is the fourth time within one month that a DuPage County judge has denied bail for a defendant accused of serious crimes. "Traffic stops alone have led to the seizure of 71 illegally possessed firearms in Naperville in the first six months of this year," Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres said in a statement.
He added, "I can promise our residents and community members that the Naperville Police Department will continue to be diligent about taking illegal weapons off our streets."
Hill is set to appear in court again on Aug. 26.
