Playgrounds Remain Closed Under Governor’s Phase 3 Plan

"All outdoor recreation allowed" once Illinois moves to Phase 4

Pembroke Park
Pembroke Park (Naperville Park District)

Illinois recently moved into Phase 3 of the Governor’s Restore Illinois Plan. Although some additional recreation opportunities are set to reopen in early-to-mid June, playgrounds will continue to remain closed.

With Phase 3 parameters permitting activities in groups of 10 or fewer with social distancing, making playgrounds available at this time isn’t possible. Phase 4 of the plan, which states “all outdoor recreation allowed,” will include the reopening of playgrounds. We appreciate our residents’ patience while we continue to follow the guidelines to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
