Police Suspect Arson After Homeless Man's Tents Catch Fire

The fire broke out shortly before 2 p.m. Monday.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Police are suspecting arson in the burning of a homeless Naperville man’s tents.

Scott Huber was not at his campsite when the blaze started, which was around 1:55 p.m. Monday at the corner of Ogden Avenue and Naper Boulevard, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Naperville Police Chief Robert Marshall told the paper that they are investigating it as a possible arson.

While police are investigating, Huber has been left with practically nothing as most of his possessions were destroyed in the fire.

“They included food, clothing, a small computer, solar charging panels for the computer and his cell phone, and numerous discs on which he said he had stored nearly all of the data he amassed over the years during his battles with the city,” according to the Tribune.
