NAPERVILLE, IL — Residents are invited to join the city's Transportation, Engineering and Development (TED) Business team on Nov. 3 to share feedback about proposed designs for the next phase of improvements to Naperville's downtown streetscape.
The meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the Naperville Municipal Center's NEU meeting room.
The second phase of the initiative will focus on Main Street south of Van Buren and Washington Street from Chicago to Benton, with work set to start in summer 2023. The construction will modernize the streetscape, rebuild parts of the road and involve upgrades to existing utilities.

Three potential project designs will be presented at the Nov. 3 meeting by Naperville staff members and Civiltech Engineering, Inc., which is the project consultant. Those who attend can share their opinions, offer suggestions and ask questions. The TED team will consult this feedback as it moves into the next phase of the project.
Naperville's Downtown Streetscape Project, which was unveiled in 2019, kicked off in March of 2022. The project seeks to upgrade the streetscape, improve conditions for pedestrians, enhance accessibility and add planters and other features to improve the aesthetic.

The initial phase of work is set to wrap up by December 2022.
