Resident Saved From Early Morning Fire In Naperville
Firefighters helped a person escape after a fire broke out in a multi-unit building on North Avenue.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A resident was saved by firefighters after a blaze broke out in a multi-unit building on North Avenue early Wednesday.
Firefighters were called to the 300 block of North Avenue just before 5 a.m. and arrived to find fire visible from the second floor of the two-story building. Fire crews located seven residents and helped one get to safety while the others evacuated the building.
The main fire was brought under control within 10 minutes and crews stayed at the scene for more than an hour to handle salvage duties.

The affected unit was deemed to be uninhabitable, according to fire officials. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
