Residents Enrolled in Aggregation Program to See Lower Electricity Costs Starting in July

The new , lower rate will be in effect July 2016 through August 2017.

Residents and eligible small businesses in the village of Glen Ellyn will begin to see lower electric bills starting in July 2016 due to an agreement with the village's electrical supplier, FirstEnergy Solutions Corp.

As part of the agreement, FirstEnergy will match ComEd's estimated blended rate, thereby reducing the Village's currentaggregation price from 7.13¢/KwH to a fixed 6.37¢/KwH. This new rate will be in effect July 2016 through August 2017, when the Village's three year contract with FirstEnergy expires. As was the case in prior contracts, this contract renewal includeskeeping 100% green energy (REC's) as part of the overall price.

To determine if you are currently enrolled in the village's electric aggregation program, your electrical supplier can be found on your most recent ComEd bill. If you are new to Glen Ellyn and wish to opt-in to the program, please contact FirstEnergy directly at 888-651-5200. Similarly, if you wish to opt-out of the aggregation program, you may do so at any time by contacting FirstEnergy directly.
