Residents Invited To Apply For Naperville Citizen Police Academy

The deadline to apply for the 10-week citizen police academy is Jan. 31.

NAPERVILLE, IL — If you want to know the ins and outs of the Naperville Police Department, you can apply for the city's Citizen Police Academy, which begins March 8.

During the 10-week course, which will be held at the police department on Wednesday nights through May 10, officers will educate participants about investigations, patrol, forensics and other police duties via lectures, discussions and interactive demonstrations.

“Citizen Police Academy gives residents an inside look at the day-to-day operations of our department and introduces them to the many ways we protect and serve this community," Police Chief Jason Arres said in a statement.

He added, "If you’ve ever wondered about our policies, tactics, equipment, training or any other topic concerning policing in Naperville, you’ll learn all that and more at CPA."

To apply, you must be 18 or older and live or work in Naperville. The deadline is Jan. 31. Click the link to apply for the Naperville Citizen Police Academy.
