Retired Officer Bill Hurt Remembered by Naperville Police Department

NAPERVILLE, IL — The Naperville Police Department (NPD) is mourning the death of Bill Hurt, 76, who served on NPD for 25 years.

Hurt died Feb. 19 at Meadowbrook Manor in Naperville, according to his obituary.

In a dedication on Facebook, NPD wrote, "It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of retired NPD Officer Bill Hurt. Bill served our community with dedication and professionalism."

Hurt signed on with the Naperville Police Department in 1982 and retired in 2007.

"[T]he impact of his service will not be forgotten," NPD wrote, offering their condolences to his family and friends and "all who had the privilege of working alongside him."

Hurt is survived by his wife Patricia, whom he was married to for 48 years, his daughter, Amanda and his son, Bill (Amy), along with two grandchildren and other family members.
