NAPERVILLE, IL — A Romeoville man was arrested Friday in connection with multiple reports of home repair fraud in Naperville over a period of several months. Police say Salvador Garcia, 34, posed as a landscaping worker and charged residents for work he did not complete between Nov. 2022 and May 2023.

The investigation began in Nov. 2022 after a resident reported that Garcia, going by the name “Salvador Fuertes,” took a down payment for contract work for a concrete patio he did not perform. Garcia is accused of refusing to refund the down payment.

According to police, Garcia also falsely claimed to work with Lucas Landscaping and was involved with five similar incidents before his arrest.

Garcia was charged with two counts of continuing with financial crimes enterprise, four counts of theft and four counts of home repair fraud.

Police are encouraging anyone who believes they may have been victimized by a similar home repair scam involving Salvador Fuertes or the cellphone number 331-425-9288 to reach out to the Naperville Police Department's Investigations Unit at 630-420-6665.
