Woman Hit by Lightning While Walking in Bolingbrook

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A 34-year-old Berwyn woman was struck by lightning at around 2 p.m. Thursday while walking on Janes Avenue in Bolingbrook.

Bolingbrook Police Lt. Carter Larry said the woman was walking southbound in the 300 block of Janes Avenue when she was hit “by what appears to be a lightning strike.”

Responding police officers performed CPR on the woman until paramedics arrived and transported her to a local hospital with serious injuries.
