More snow, as well as dangerous cold, is expected for the Chicago area this week, according to the National Weather Service.
Another round of accumulating snow is expected Tuesday night, the weather service said. Snow will begin after 8 p.m. Tuesday through 9 a.m. on Wednesday, especially for areas near and north of Interstate 80.
The I-80 to I-88 corridor should see 1 to 2 inches of snow; while I-88 to the Wisconsin line could see 2 to 5 inches of snow.
The snow could cause "hazardous travel conditions" for part of the Wednesday morning commute, the weather service said.

Another chance of snow is also possible on Wednesday evening, and could again cause hazardous travel conditions.
An arctic cold front will then move across the area late Thursday, with "dangerous cold conditions expected Thursday night into the upcoming weekend," the weather service said.
Currently, Friday is forecast to have a high of -4 degrees; with morning wind chills as low as 30 below zero.
