Santa, Cops Cruise Neighborhoods Collecting Toys In Naperville

Santa gathered more than 200 toys to donate at Comer Children's Hospital.

NAPERVILLE, IL --- There's no doubt that Santa Claus has been lately, but he took time out of his hectic schedule to cruise around some Naperville neighborhoods and spread holiday cheer. Old St. wasn't in his sleigh, though. Instead, he went "undercover" as the Naperville police drove him throughout the city to meet and greet kids.

The special visits were part of an annual tradition to collect toys and donations for kids at Comer Children's Hospital. While Santa's Naperville Police Department helpers collected the gifts, Santa passed out candy canes and smiled for photos as neighborhood kids gathered around the police department's underwater recovery vehicle.

This marks the 14th year that Santa and the police department have joined forces to help out at Comer Children's Hospital for the holidays. In all, they collected more than 200 toys and spread a wealth of smiles and memories for kids to take with them this holiday season.
