See Star Wars Characters At Special Event On Water Street
Families can head to Water Street to meet and greet character from Star Wars at a free event slated for May 4.
NAPERVILLE, IL — May 4 has unofficially been labeled Star Wars Day and Naperville residents can celebrate by meeting some of the movies beloved (and villainized) characters in person at a special event on Water Street.
The free event, which kicks off at 6:30 p.m., will be presented by the Downtown Naperville Alliance and the 501st Midwest Garrison.
"While the 501st Legion was initially founded to unite costumers with a penchant for Star Wars villainy, one of our real-world missions is to bring good to our communities through volunteer charity work,” Ted Ruler, member of the 501st Midwest Garrison, said in a news release. “The 501st is always looking for opportunities to brighten the lives of the less fortunate and to bring awareness to positive causes on both a local and global scale."

The 501st Midwest Garrison is part of the 501st Legion, a group of volunteers dedicated to embracing Star Wars costumes as a way to help benefit local charities.
