2 Charged After Shots Fired At Modaff Road Apartment Complex

A 20-year-old Plainfield man and a juvenile were arrested in connection with Friday's incident.

NAPERVILLE, IL — An adult and a juvenile have been arrested in connection with a shots fired incident that took place in the 1300 block of Modaff Road Friday afternoon. Police say Rickie L. Ellis, 20, of the 3600 block of Shannon Court, Plainfield, and the juvenile were charged with home invasion, residential burglary and trespass to a residence.

Naperville police are still searching a third suspect, who jumped from a third-floor window and fled in a dark-colored sedan.

Police were called to the scene just before 3 p.m. for a report of a person with a weapon in the apartment complex. When police got to the scene, they saw "armed subjects" running from an apartment. Police say the suspects returned to the apartment and fired multiple shots.

No one was hurt, according to police, and they do not believe the act was random.

This is the second shots fired incident to take place in Naperville in less than a week. Police are also investigating a shots fired incident that took place in a parking lot in the 300 block of east Bailey Road Monday just before 2 p.m.
