Smoke Detectors Alert Residents To Garage Fire In Naperville

NAPERVILLE, IL — Smoke detectors in a home are to thank for helping two Naperville residents get to safety after a fire broke out in their attached garage Saturday morning.

Fire officials were called to the 800 block of South Charles Avenue after residents heard their smoke detector and saw smoke coming from their garage door. Once fire crews got to the scene, they found heavy fire at the front of the garage.

The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes before it spread to the attached two-story home.

The residents were able to return to their home after the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
