“I am thrilled to be chosen as a Television Academy intern!” said Siambekos. “This is such a prestigious opportunity to launch my career in the entertainment industry. I know this internship will advance my production skills and allow me to learn directly from leading professionals.”

“To capture someone’s way of life and translate it onto a visual medium is powerful,” said Siambekos. “I realized this at 16, when I held a 35mm film camera for the first time as I followed my grandparents around. The negatives revealed everyday vignettes that encapsulated their spirit and told their story. At that moment, I knew I had to pursue nonfiction production.”

“Within my family and circle of friends, no one has experience working in the entertainment industry—so, I did not know where to begin,” said Siambekos. “All I knew is that I had a passion for telling stories and I wanted to make a difference through my work. Today, I am thankful for my coursework and professors, who have guided me, challenged me, and continue to inspire me.”

The Television Academy Foundation's Internship Program also provides professional development sessions with leaders in the television industry and customized seminars covering personal brand building and navigating the job market ahead for participating students. Interns also become life-long members of the Foundation’s alumni family giving them access to events and networking opportunities as they build their careers in the industry.
