Suspect In Custody After Shooting That Hurt 2 Teens In Naperville

Sunday's shooting left an 18-year-old Naperville man in critical condition and a 17-year-old Aurora boy injured.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A suspect is in custody Tuesday morning in connection with a Naperville shooting that wounded two teens Sunday afternoon, police said in an update. Naperville police say they are still following all leads and will release more details as additional information becomes available.

The shooting, which took place in the 600 block of Amersale Drive just after 2:10 p.m., left a Naperville man, 18, in critical condition, an Aurora boy, 17, injured. The boy was treated at a local hospital and released.

According to police, an initial investigation indicates the teens met with another person to engage in a "transaction" that led to an argument and shots fired.

Police are urging witnesses or anyone with surveillance footage of the shooting to call the Naperville Police Department at 630-420-6665 and ask to speak with the investigations department.
