Texas Public Safety Denies Altering Sandra Bland Dash Cam Footage
The funeral for Bland will be held Saturday in Lisle.
The Texas Department of Public Safety has denied claims that the recently release dash cam footage of Sandra Bland’s arrest has been altered, according to a report from the Texas Tribune.
Although the video appears to skip at certain points, DPS spokesman Tom Vinger said the video has not been altered.

“To eliminate any concerns as to the efficacy of the video, DPS previously requested the FBI examine the dash cam and jail video to ensure the integrity of the video,” he wrote. “The entire video was uploaded to include the audio and video of the conversation the trooper had by telephone with his sergeant, which occurred after the arrest. Some of the video that occurred during this conversation was affected in the upload and is being addressed. We are working to repost the dash cam video. “
Sandra Bland, a 28-year-old Naperville woman was arrested July 10 for allegedly kicking an officer after she was pulled over for a lane-change violation. She was found dead in her cell July 13. Authorities have declared the cause of her death to be self-inflicted asphyxiation. She was reportedly found in her cell with a plastic garbage bag around her neck and her feet touching the floor.

Funeral services for Bland will be held Saturday, July 25 at the DuPage African Methodist Episcopal Church in Lisle. The wake will be held at 9 a.m. with funeral services scheduled for 11 a.m. The church is located at 4300 Yackley Avenue.
