
WHAT: Over 5,000
people are expected to attend the Third Annual Anime Midwest Convention, a
three-day convention celebrating Japanese animation, video games,
music and more. Highlights from the event include:
Featured Guest of Honor Ellen McLain, the main
antagonist and voice of GlaDOS from the hit video game series “Portal” which
TIME named one of the “100 Greatest Video Games of All Time.” Ellen will also
be appearing in the upcoming Guillermo del Toro film “Pacific Rim,” which also
stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba and Ron Perlman.

WHO: Anime Midwest
is a three-day convention celebrating Japanese animation, video games, music
and more, similar to other cons like anime central, aka ACEN. The convention
runs from Friday morning through Sunday afternoon, and includes dozens of
events such as a Cosplay costume contest (where participants wear costumes and
accessories to represent a specific character or idea from a work of fiction) anime
screenings, concerts and more.
