Trash Can Fire Leaves Naperville Home Uninhabitable
The fire broke out late Thursday morning at a home on Paxton Drive.
NAPERVILLE, IL — A fire that started in a trash can extended to the outside of a home on Paxton Drive Thursday, leaving the home uninhabitable.
Just before 11:40 p.m., the Naperville Fire Department received a report of a fire in the 1800 block of Paxton Drive. According to a news release, the person who reported the fire said a trash can next to the home had ignited.
Firefighters got to the scene to find flames extending from the outside of the home into the attic. A resident who was home at the time of the fire had gotten out safely, fire officials say.

The blaze was extinguished around 11:49 p.m., and was reported to have caused more than $100,000 to the property.
