Trash Fire Causes $500 Damage To Building In Naperville
Firefighters battled a blaze that started in a kitchen's trash can in the 1800 block of Naperville Road early Wednesday.
NAPERVILLE, IL — A trash can in a cooking area caught fire early Wednesday morning, causing $500 in damage to a building in Naperville.
The fire started around 1:40 a.m. at a home in the 1800 block of Naperville Road, according to a news release from the Naperville Fire Department. Everyone in the building had begun evacuating before fire crews got to the scene and discovered "light smoke" in the kitchen, the news release said.
It took firefighters less than 10 minutes to put out the flames.

Fire officials say the kitchen will stay closed until it can be inspected by health department officials. The cause of the fire was determined to accidental.
