Two Naperville Central Students Recognized
The students scored in the top three percent of more than 160,000 Black Americans who requested consideration in the scholarship program.

Two Naperville Central High School seniors were among 3,100 students named Outstanding Participants in the National Achievement Scholarship Program.
Corrine E. Conway and Jada S. Haynes scored in the top three percent of more than 160,000 Black Americans who requested consideration in the 2015 National Achievement Scholarship Program when they took the 2013 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT.)

Conway and Haynes will receive a certificate congratulating them on their academic success and be referred to U.S. colleges and universities. The National Achievement Scholarship Program was initiated in 1964 to honor academically promising Black American high school students.
The scholarship competition is conducted by National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which also conducts the National Merit Scholarship Program. NMSC recently recognized 26 seniors from Naperville Central High School and 36 from Naperville North High School as Commended Students in the 2015 program.
The 26 students from Naperville Central are: Graehme H. Blair, Charlotte A. Brooks, Michaela T. Byrd, Jessica Deutsch, Issac A. Frank, William T. Gayde, Kevin G. Gayley, Rishabh Gupta, Alexander Hanes, Meghan Horton, Brian D. Jacobson, Christopher D. Jamrozy, Zoie A. Kehrli, Catherine I. Kim, Gloria M. Korpas, Katherine E. McGriff, Aayush Mishra, Yan T. Ngai, Sharon S. Pan, Andrew V. Peck, Ethan A. Rot, Katherine M. Schelli, Ruth Thorne, Andrew P. Walters, Gretchen Xue, and Cassie Y. Zhang.

Brubaker, Sydney Chen, Jeffrey Chao, Chrystal Chen, Rashad M. Choudhury, Sasha R. Cohen, Paul G. Fillar, Alice Y. Hou, Amanda M. Jackson, Kathryn C. Jenkins, Ethan J. Knez, Aleeza J. Leder Macek, Albert Li, Shannon Low, Meghana MacHireddy, Patrick B. McGrail, Jessica B. Morris, Taleena N. Nadkarni, Anna Neufelder, Kelly M. O’Toole, McKenzie A. Pryor, Mark Reed, Ellynna R. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their academic success. Although they will not continue in the 2015 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students place among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who took the 2013 PSAT/NMSQT.
Last month, 23 Naperville Central High School and 36 Naperville North seniors were announced as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists. Recipients will be announced in the spring.
