Vintage Baseball, Apple Pie Contest Set For Picnic At Naper Settlement
Head to Naper Settlement on June 12 for a Hometown Picnic that includes games, races and an apple pie baking contest.
NAPERVILLE, IL — Watch an old-fashioned baseball game and take part in an apple pie baking contest when Naper Settlement hosts its Hometown Picnic June 12. The family-friendly festivities also include races, contests, games and other activities.
Attendees are encouraged to pack their own picnics and bring blankets to spread out on the lawn as they watch the McLean County Prairie Chickens face off against the Lemont Quarrymen in a baseball game played by traditional rules established in 1858. The game starts at 1:30 p.m.
Another highlight of the Hometown Picnic is the apple pie baking contest. Bakers are encouraged to whip up their most inventive apple pie creations to vie for.a chance at glory.
