'W Man' Guaranteeing Cubs Victory in World Series

"The W Man" is the creation of Naperville sports management firm Innovation Lab.

NAPERVILLE, IL – Watch out, Superman. Here comes “The W Man.”

You may have seen this caped Cubs fan outside of Wrigley Field Saturday and chalked it up to just being another costumed fan. But that’s not necessarily the case.

“The W Man” is the creation of Naperville sports management firm Innovation Lab and will be sent to Cleveland by Game Day USA. He guaranteed a Cubs victory Saturday night, and he delivered, all without leaving a wake of destruction in his path.

“The W Man” took his message to numerous news stations this past weekend, and will continue to spread his message throughout the World Series via the news media and social media using #WMAN and #GAMEDAYUSA. He will make stops at two Game Day USA tournament destinations en route to Cleveland: South Bend, Indiana – home of the University of Notre Dame and Sandusky, Ohio – home of the brand new Sports Force Park near Cedar Point theme park.

While “The W Man” is guaranteeing victory for the Chicago Cubs in the World Series, he also has a great deal of respect for the traditions of the Cleveland Indians and their loyal fans.

“‘The W Man’ is just glad the Cubs don’t have to face the likes of Ricky Vaughn, Pedro Cerrano, and Willie Mays Hayes,” said a Game Day USA spokesperson in a news release. “Ronny Woo Woo and The Bleacher Preacher deserve a great deal of credit for paying their dues and inspiring Cubs fans for all these years, but until The W Man came onto the scene, there was no World Series. Enough said.”

Upon news of the possible reactivation of Kyle Schwarber by the Chicago Cubs for the World Series, “The W Man” has made it known that he remains available to be added to the Chicago Cubs roster should Cubs manager Joe Maddon and President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein deem it necessary to bolster the Cubs roster for this historic series, according to a news release. “The W Man” is capable of playing every position on the field, and is also capable of playing two outfield positions at once, should Joe Madden wish to utilize a 5-man infield.

“The W Man” is not all rah-rah and is much more intellectual that many fans may think at first glance. He will continue to speak on a wide variety of topics, including curses, political correctness taken too far with sports mascots like the Indian, drone safety, and the importance of the pinkie finger on one’s pitching hand. Members of the media can refer to the contact information above for The W Man appearances throughout the World Series. Fans should keep an eye out for the W Man prior to World Series games.
