What Future Projects Are in Store for Naperville's Riverwalk?

Improvements could be coming soon for the Naperville Riverwalk.

The Naperville Riverwalk Commission has approved several updates for future projects along the 1.75-mile path, according to the Daily Herald.

The Daily Herald reports there are five projects that could get underway by 2020:

  • Rehabilitation work of the Riverwalk between Eagle Street and the Smykal Free Speech Pavilion at Webster Street
  • Construction of a new segment to the path on property owned by North Central College, 430 S. Washington St., just north of the Burger King on Washington Street
  • Construction of a new segment of path at the Water Street District between Main and Webster streets
  • Replacement of the asphalt fire lane at the Millennium Carillon
  • Reconstruction of a parking lot near Jaycee Playground and the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion
