$2.3 Million Surplus Expected For LW 210 In 2018

Revenue is expected to outweigh expenditures again for Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 in 2018.

NEW LENOX, IL -- The Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 board of education is expecting a multi-million dollar surplus for the second straight year after passing its proposed 2018 fiscal year budget at its last meeting on Sept. 21. The expected overall surplus of $2.3 million comes after district officials announced a $4.8 million surplus from 2017 but just two years after financial woes caused the closure of one of the district's four high schools.

Expected revenues in 2018 total $104.2 million and expenses are expected to come at $101.9 million, according to a news release from District 210. The budgeted surplus does not include an addition $4.6 million that could be generated from land sales.
