2 Promoted At New Lenox Fire District
These promotions were well-deserved, New Lenox Fire Chief Adam Riegel said.

NEW LENOX, IL -The New Lenox Fire Protection District held a swearing in ceremony this week to promote a new lieutenant and new battalion chief. The new battalion chief is Michael Parkhurst. He has been in the fire service for 17 years including eight with New Lenox. Parkhurst will oversee all day-to-day operations for the district’s four fire stations on the gold shift, the press release states.
The new fire lieutenant is Zach Cook. He has been in the fire service for eight years, over half of those he has spent with New Lenox. Cook most recently was the engineer for Truck 61 on the red shift. Lieutenant Cook will remain on the red shift and will be in charge of the firefighter/paramedics at Station 3, the agency stated.
“These promotions were all well-deserved,” stated Fire Chief Adam Riegel in a press release. “Both Michael Parkhurst and Zach Cook have worked extremely hard to get to where they are, and we couldn’t be prouder of them for their efforts.”
