27 Confirmed Or Suspected Cases Of Coronavirus At Silver Cross

As of Friday, the hospital told Patch it has 18 inpatients who have tested positive for the coronavirus and nine persons under investigation

NEW LENOX, IL — Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox once again reported a decrease of coronavirus inpatients at the hospital when compared to last week, according to data provided to Patch. As of noon Friday, the hospital told Patch it has 18 inpatients who have tested positive for the coronavirus and nine persons under investigation.

All 27 patients continue to be cared for in isolation.

Director Of Marketing and Community Relations Debra Robbins told Patch primary care services is now open in the new Pavilion D on the west side of the hospital campus.

In July, the hospital will also open its new urgent care center and occupational health program.

Construction also continues at the hospital on the 33,000-square-foot heart care addition on the east side.

"We’re on schedule to open the addition at the end of the year, Robbins told Patch. "Among other things, the expansion will feature two dedicated cardiovascular operating rooms, a cardiac hybrid procedure room, recovery rooms, additional cardiac testing rooms, and electrophysiology lab with sophisticated three-dimensional mapping to help treat heart rhythm problems."

Data on recoveries and deaths at specific hospitals is not available through health authorities.
