49 Hospitalized With COVID-19 At Silver Cross Hospital

Nine of the currently hospitalized COVID-19 patients are in the ICU, and four patients with COVID-19 are on a ventilator.

NEW LENOX, IL — The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at Silver Cross has remained relatively stead over the past week. According to data from the hospital, on Monday, there were 49 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, and two persons under investigation awaiting test results.

Last week, on Jan. 4, there were 50 patients with COVID-19 currently hospitalized and two persons under investigation awaiting test results.

The hospital has seen decreasing hospitalizations over the past month and a half. In November, Silver Cross saw some of its highest numbers of patients when it told Patch it had over 120 COVID-positive patients.

Out of the 49 patients, nine of the currently hospitalized COVID-19 patients are in the ICU, and four patients with COVID-19 are on a ventilator.

The hospital has an 6.6 percent 7-day positivity rate for its COVID-19 testing, which is lower than the 8.5 percent positivity rate as of Jan. 4.
