50 Hospitalized With COVID-19 At Silver Cross Hospital

In November, Silver Cross saw some of its highest numbers of patients when it told Patch it had over 120 COVID-positive patients.

NEW LENOX, IL — The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at Silver Cross has slightly decreased over the past two weeks. On Dec. 22, the hospital had 57 patients with COVID-19 hospitalized and four persons under investigation awaiting test results. According to hospital data, on Monday, there were 50 patients with COVID-19 currently hospitalized and two persons under investigation awaiting test results.

The hospital has seen decreasing hospitalizations over the past month and a half. In November, Silver Cross saw some of its highest numbers of patients when it told Patch it had over 120 COVID-positive patients.

The hospital has an 8.5 percent 7-day positivity rate for its COVID-19 testing, which is lower than the 9.2 percent positivity rate as of Dec. 22.
