59 Hospitalized With COVID-19 At Silver Cross Hospital

Out of the 59 patients, seven of the hospitalized COVID-19 patients are in the ICU, and two patients with COVID-19 are on a ventilator.

NEW LENOX, IL — The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at Silver Cross has increased slightly compared to last week. According to data from the hospital, on Monday, there were 59 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, and three persons under investigation awaiting test results.

Last week, on Jan. 11, there were 49 patients with COVID-19 currently hospitalized and two persons under investigation awaiting test results.
The hospital has seen mostly decreasing hospitalizations after high hospitalizations in November, when Silver Cross had over 120 COVID-positive patients.

Out of the 59 patients, seven of the currently hospitalized COVID-19 patients are in the ICU, and two patients with COVID-19 are on a ventilator.

The hospital has an 7.3 percent 7-day positivity rate for its COVID-19 testing, which is higher than the 6.6 percent positivity rate as of Jan. 11.
