6 Providence Football Players Sign With Colleges on National Signing Day

More than a handful of Providence Catholic footballers will continue their football careers in college.

NEW LENOX, IL - Six football players at Providence Catholic High School made their college commitments on National Signing Day on Wednesday.

Richie Warfield of Orland Hills - the co-captain of the Celtics in 2015 and 2016 and a Chicago Catholic League Blue All-Conference 2nd team member his senior year - signed with the University of Dayton.

Kevin O'Boyle of Plainfield - a CCL Blue All-Conference 2nd team member and Academic All-State player his senior year - chose Carthage College (Wisc).

Jared Drake of Shorewood - a three-year co-captain and CCL Blue All-Conference selection - decided on the University of Rochester.

Other National Signing Day football commits from Providence include Chris Binder (Elmhurst College), Martez Malone Jr. (McKendree University) and Kevin Marmo (University of Wisconsin-Platteville).

"We are extremely proud of these young men for their hard work in the classroom and on the field. We wish them the very best in college and in the future," said Dr. John Harper, principal of Providence.
