Village Of New Lenox To Host Remembrance Ceremony On 25th Anniversary Of 9/11

NEW LENOX, IL — The Village of New Lenox invites residents and members of the community to join a special 25th Anniversary 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, Sept. 11, at 12 p.m. at the Firefighters Memorial in the Village Commons, across from Trinity Services.

As the nation marks a quarter-century since the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, the ceremony will provide an opportunity for remembrance. As part of the event, the Village of New Lenox will also conduct a street naming ceremony in honor of Air Force Veteran Sgt. (RET) Israel Del Toro, recognizing his extraordinary service. Del Toro, a retired Technical Sergeant and decorated combat veteran, embodies the courage and commitment displayed by the men and women who have served our nation in the years since the attacks.

This solemn observance will commemorate the legacy of Sept. 11, 2001, while also celebrating the service and sacrifice of those who have answered our nation's call in the years since.
