NEW LENOX, IL — A New Lenox wine bar and gaming café was hit for a second time this summer by a smash-and-grab crew, according to New Lenox police reports.

Police were called just before 6 a.m. Friday to Vino, 647 E. Lincoln Highway, for an alarm. Police discovered that three male suspects had shattered the glass front door with a sledgehammer and removed cash boxes from three gaming machines, according to police reports.

During the investigation, officers located a cash box on the side of the road in the 200 block of E. Maple Street. Officers also received information that the same suspects had burglarized a business in Mokena and a business in Palos Hills overnight.

In Mokena, at 5:20 a.m. Friday multiple masked offenders broke out the front glass and entered the Post Game Pub located at 9630 Willow Lane, where they broke into the gaming machines. They then went directly to Mindy's Ribs, 9610 W. 191st St., around 5:30 a.m.) where they did the same. They then moved into New Lenox, before later hitting a business in Palos Hills.

Mokena Police Chief Brian Benton said Flock cameras and business videos helped police determine the burglaries were all by the same crew, and that they were in a stolen Lexus SUV.

The amount that was taken was unavailable as of Friday morning, police said.

The business was also struck by burglars in June, minutes after ReUnion Bar and Grill, 1080 E. Lincoln Highway, was also hit, police said at the time. ReUnion was also targeted again, on Aug. 6.

The Aug. 28 incident is under review for further investigation or case closure, according to police reports.
