Once inside, the suspects then destroyed several gaming
machines and removed the cash boxes, police said.

Minutes later, Joliet police responded to the Gas N' Wash at 3000 Maple Rd., where the same suspects reportedly entered the gas station and destroyed gaming machines, according to police reports.

Suspects had also broken into White Horse Inn in June, police told Patch. Nothing was stolen in that incident.

New Lenox Gaming Café Hit Days Earlier

Last week, a New Lenox gaming café was targeted in a burglary for the second time this summer, police said previously.

Police were called just before 6 a.m. Aug. 28 to Vino, 647 E. Lincoln Highway, for an alarm. Police discovered that three male suspects had shattered the glass front door with a sledgehammer and removed cash boxes from three gaming machines, according to police reports.

During the investigation, officers located a cash box on the side of the road in the 200 block of E. Maple Street. Officers also received information that the same suspects had burglarized two businesses in Mokena and a business in Palos Hills overnight.

In Mokena, at 5:20 a.m. Aug. 28, multiple masked offenders broke out the front glass and entered the Post Game Pub located at 9630 Willow Lane, where they broke into the gaming machines, according to Mokena Police Chief Brian Benton. They then went directly to Mindy's Ribs, 9610 W. 191st St., around 5:30 a.m., where they did the same, before moving into New Lenox. They also later hit a business in Palos Hills, Benton said.

Vino was also struck by burglars in June, minutes after ReUnion Bar and Grill, 1080 E. Lincoln Highway, was also hit, police said at the time. ReUnion was also targeted again, on Aug. 6.
