New Lenox Fire Station 2 To Close Temporarily, District Says

NEW LENOX, IL — New Lenox Fire Protection District's Station 2 will close temporarily for several days while ComEd completes work, officials said Thursday.

Officials announced that Fire Station 2, located at 1205 N. Cedar Road, will be temporarily closed September 28–30, while ComEd completes a power switchover following renovations at the station.

During the temporary closure, the crews who typically operate from Station 2 will be working out of Fire Station 1, located at 261 E. Maple Street, and will continue responding to emergency calls throughout the District.

Residents should continue to call 911 for all emergencies. Officials said the temporary closure will not affect the District's ability to provide emergency services to the community.

"We appreciate the community's patience and understanding while this necessary work is completed," officials said.
