Police found the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Ann O'Connell, 43, of New Lenox. The officer noticed her vehicle was missing a tire and instructed O'Connell to turn off the car.

Police said O'Connell did not follow the officer's instructions, put it in gear and pulled away. The officer followed O'Connell and curbed her vehicle again.

O'Connell got out of the car and was taken into custody.

After an investigation, the officer determined O'Connell was
impaired and under the influence of alcohol. Police said they did not know if the tire was damaged before the accident or as a result. The damage from the accident and the tire were both on the passenger side, police said.

She was taken to the New Lenox police department, where she was charged with DUI and fleeing/eluding police. She was processed and released.
