-Lockport Gallery Seven in Lockport opened its exhibit Art of Illinois: A Bicentennial Celebrationto a “bursting at the seams” crowd on Saturday, October 6th. Over 60 artists from around the state are part of this exciting exhibit, which is on both the second and third floors of the Gaylord Building.
Presenting the awards and a certificate of Recognition from the Illinois State Senate was Senator Pat McGuire. Andrea Fox from New Lenox is exhibiting her works Flight I and Flight II in this exhibit.
“Flight I and Flight II were created on Rives printing paper with printing inks applied by hand to acrylic plates and printed with a lithographic press. In doing this I was concerned with space and movement throughout each piece. I was pleased with the prints and wanted to apply the found objects representing earth and flight corresponding to what was seen in the monoprints.

I have worked in graphic arts and art education with experiences in many media. I feel fortunate to have lived in Chicago and its nearby communities, which offer so many opportunities to grow in the visual arts. Now retired, I enjoy sharing my experiences with others to help their visions in art.”
This exhibit is free and open to the public until October 31st. Don’t miss out on the chance to see this amazing work by amazing Illinois artists
