Assault, Retail Theft: New Lenox Arrests

The following information is from the New Lenox Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

June 10

  • The windshield of a car was broken and its tires were deflated in the 1000 block of South Cooper Road.

  • Victoria Manthei, 24, of the 1800 block of Tudor Lane, was arrested at 4:03 a.m. at Spencer Road and Somerset Lane and charged with DUI-alcohol.
  • The complainant was sitting in their truck filling out paperwork when they heard a loud bang at the rear of the truck. They saw a man with bolt cutters at the back of the truck. When the man saw the complainant, he got in another car and fled the area. The padlock to the truck had been cut and removed.

June 13

  • Two men each stole a 32-inch TV from Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway.
  • A bicycle was stolen from a driveway in the 2900 block of Sheffield Drive.

June 15

  • Tessie Perry, 59, of the 1600 block of Carlton Court, was arrested at 10:06 a.m. in the 1600 block of Carlton Court and charged with assault. Perry and a neighbor have an ongoing dispute. After an argument, Perry swung her fist, attempting to strike the nighbor.
  • Monique Broadnax, 24, of Matteson, was arrested at 5:01 p.m. at Target, 2370 E. Lincoln Highway, and charged with retail theft.
  • Danasha Magruder, 21, of University Park, was arrested at 5:01 p.m. at Target, 2370 E. Lincoln Highway, and charged with retail theft.
  • A car was keyed in the 400 block of Degroate Road.
  • Benjamin Holmes, 33, of Joliet, was arrested at 7:38 p.m. at Lincoln Highway and Washington Street and charged with driving while license revoked.
  • Aaron Johnson, 25, of Joliet, was arrested at 11:08 p.m. at Lincoln Highway and I-80 and charged with driving while license suspended.

June 16

  • A man stole several packages of over-the-counter medication from Jewel Osco, 475 Nelson Road.
