Athlete of the Week: DeFilippis Sets Table for Celtics

With the way Kevin DeFilippis is sparking the Providence Catholic offense this season, Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly might ask him to return kickoffs to get the Irish going next fall.

All joking aside, Providence leadoff hitter DeFillippis simply couldn’t have been a better igniter in a pair of baseball games this week.

In the , the senior went 4-for-4, scored three runs, stole a couple of bases and drove in a run.

In the Celtics’ 13-7 victory over De La Salle, he went 3-for-3 with two more runs scored and a pair of RBIs.

For his accomplishments, DeFilippis has been named Patch’s Athlete of the Week.
